Tectron Clip Detector for Industrial Metal Detectors

Tectron-Clip-DetectorTectron Clip Detector for Industrial Metal Detectors

The Tectron Clip Detector for Industrial Metal Detectors, is an optional accessory that is required if a conveyor belt has metal repair clips  or is a steel cord belt.

The Tectron Clip Detector consists of a compact sensor head and mounting bracket. The Clip Detector senses the proximity of repair clips as they pass over the sensor’s head. Once the clips are detected, the Metal Detector is placed into “clip mode” in which the Detector is slightly desensitised, but not disabled.  Any large piece of tramp metal riding on the clips will still trigger the Detector.

Dual Clip Detectors are used on slow moving belt conveyors when the time it takes the clips to transition through the antenna zone is greater than maximum clip time of the controller.  They are also used for variable speed belt conveyors when the time it takes the clips to transition through the antenna zone varies.    One Clip Detector is mounted upstream of the first upstream adjacent idler roller and the second is mounted downstream of the first downstream adjacent idler roller.  The Clip Detectors are labelled “Upstream” and “Downstream” to indicate the location they should be placed.   The Upstream Detector places the Tramp Metal Detector into clip mode, the Downstream Detector switches it off.

In a splice of a steel cord conveyor belt, the leading and trailing edges of the steel cords can cause the Metal Detector to trip at the belt splice.  Reference clips are attached to the conveyor belt to mark this point , and the Clip Detector will sense these clips, and momentarily adjust the  Detector sensitivity to allow the splice to pass without tripping the Tramp Metal Detector.

The Tectron Clip Detector is suitable or all  Models of Tectron Industrial Metal Detectors used on Conveyor Belts.
